Transfer to Siena
Siena has no airport of its own: here's how to arrive from Florence, Pisa and Rome without surprises on timing.
From Florence
The direct bus (Autolinee Toscane/Flixbus) takes about 1h15 and arrives in the centre. The train requires a change at Empoli and is slower (about 1h30-2h) — counterintuitively, for Siena the bus is often the better choice.
From Pisa (airport)
No direct connection: train or bus to Florence (about 1h), then bus to Siena (another 1h15). Alternatively, a private transfer covers the route in about 1h30-2h with no changes.
From Rome
Direct bus (about 3 hours) or train with a change at Florence or Chiusi (about 3-3h30 total). For a weekend trip, the direct bus is generally more convenient.
